Doin' the things a triangle can

Anyone a 'They Might Be Giants' fan? I know it is not an accurate quote but anyway, I finally finished my triangle quilt.

It is spread over the couch purely for photographic purposes. I've had too many bedspreads and blankets draped over crappy couches in student houses to want to re-invent that aesthetic now.

As predicted, the kids got a kick out of finding their names quilted in.

The flock of geese got a little look-in, and you can see my average quilting skills in all those puckers.....

With the exception of the cotton thread, I didn't buy a single thing to make this quilt. Even the binding was a remnant from curtains I sewed last year. I'm very happy with this one.

  4. Hi Julie,

I followed your name back from your comment on Blue Milk - you mentioned sewing, so I knew I had to check out your blog.

The funny thing is that I downloaded (bought) "Flood" a few days ago, because I was feeling nostalgic (My twin brother was a big TMBG fan, and he just became a Dad). I've just introduced the kids to TMBG, and the 6 year old is very taken with "Triangle Man". I don't know many people that have even heard of them, these days.

The quilt is lovely - I really like the colours, and the idea that you quilted the kids names into it - I'll have to try that.

    1. Hi Claire,
I always thought 'Birdhouse in your soul' would be a great song for kids and can't believe I haven't introduced my own kids to them.

  6. And I might have to add TMBG to my music list for the kids.
